Quantum Baccarat Live: Our Review, How and Where to Play

!DISCLOSURE
Playtech by Playtech

Quantum Baccarat is a live casino baccarat game from Playtech that features random multipliers that can substantially increase the rewards of any bet, including side bets. As a tradeoff, a 20% Quantum fee is applied to all wagers. It’s one of the few live dealer baccarat games to offer bonus multipliers, acting as a solid alternative to Lightning Baccarat. Compared to many similar titles, Quantum Baccarat stands out by offering a wide range of side bets, which can also have their payouts multiplied. This makes it a great game for players looking to spice up their time with punto banco while enjoying a wide range of wagering options.

In this Quantum Baccarat review, we’ll take an in-depth look at Playtech’s innovative game and what it offers. We’ll explain how its rules work, focusing on the multipliers and other game-specific features. We’ll also compare it to similar titles from other providers, giving you our two cents about Quantum Baccarat and whether you should give it a try.

Quantum Roulette is probably one of Playtech’s most recognizable brands. It’s a flashy roulette game with multipliers – one of the oldest and most successful of its kind. However, it also keeps things pretty straightforward – only even money bets can be multiplied, and only by a pre-set number of specific multipliers.

In 2020, Playtech brought blackjack to the Quantum brand family by releasing Quantum Blackjack. Although the game seems fairly straightforward these days, it was massively innovative at the time as one of the first attempts to bring the whole concept of random multipliers into the game of blackjack.

In 2025, Baccarat got the same treatment with the release of Quantum Baccarat. Of course, baccarat games with multipliers are nothing new at this point. Titles like Lightning Baccarat, Golden Wreath Baccarat, and Prosperity Tree Baccarat from Evolution come to mind, as well as Mega Baccarat by Pragmatic Play. This means that Playtech had to come up with a way to stand out from the crowd, and it seems their choice was side bets.

The table offers 6 different side bets, all of which can be multiplied to offer better rewards. That’s a unique angle we’ve only seen in Lightning Baccarat before.

Of course, these increased rewards come with a downside. To compensate for the greater profit potential, a 20% fee is applied to all wagers, side bets included. The bright side is that this fee does not affect the game’s RTP or house edge, keeping it in line with industry standards for baccarat.

How to Play Quantum Baccarat Live

The base gameplay loop of Quantum Baccarat works pretty much the same as traditional baccarat tables and follows standard rules. If you need a refresher on how it all works, make sure to check out our tutorial.

To place a bet, use the chips located at the bottom of the screen and select either Player, Banker, Tie, or any side wagers. Once you confirm, the bet will be active for the earliest upcoming new round.

Since the betting period is so short, we recommend setting up your desired wagers while the previous round is still being resolved. Alternatively, you can set up the Autoplay to place your desired wagers in every round automatically until you turn it off (or run out of money, so be careful with this feature.)

The objective, as with all baccarat games, is to predict whether the Player or Banker will draw cards with a total value closer to 9, or if the round will end in a Tie.

Each side draws two cards, with the option for a third card based on baccarat third card rules. Additionally, any hand total exceeding 10 only counts as its first digit. For example, a total hand value of 16 counts as a score of 6.

Once the card dealing stage is complete, the Player and Banker’s hands are compared. The total that is closer to 9 wins, and all players with the corresponding bet receive a payout as per the game’s paytable. Banker/Player wagers pay 1:1, while Tie bets offer 8:1.

Commissioned vs Non-Commissioned

The game allows you to easily switch between commission and non-commission paytables at any moment.

The commissioned variant features a standard 5% fee on all banker bets because the Banker is slightly more likely to win. Although the 5% fee sounds annoying, this variant actually offers a higher optimal RTP. This variant has 98.94% RTP on Banker bets and 98.76% RTP for Player bets, which makes it the statistically better option.

The non-commissioned variant removes this fee, but when the Banker wins with a Six, the payout is 0.5:1. It makes some things simpler, but offers 98.66% on Banker bets and 98.76% RTP on Player bets.

All other wagers are identical in both versions.

Quantum Multipliers

In every round, the game randomly assigns multipliers to between 1 and 5 betting positions. Multipliers can affect any position, including both main bets and side bets.

If you have an active bet on a multiplied position and win the bet, you win the multiplier instead of the base payout. For example, if the game assigns a 5x multiplier to the Player bet and you win it, you’ll win 5:1 instead of the usual 1:1.

The potential size of these multipliers depends on the type of bet itself. The options are as follows:

Main Bet Multipliers

  • Banker Bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, or 88x.
  • Player bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, or 88x.
  • Tie bet multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x, or 888x.

Side Bet Multipliers

  • Big bet multipliers – 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, or 88x.
  • Small bet multipliers – 4x, 5x, 7x, 9x, 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, or 88x.
  • Either Pair multipliers – 11x, 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 555x, or 888x.
  • Player Pair multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x, or 888x.
  • Banker Pair multipliers – 22x, 33x, 44x, 55x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x, or 888x.
  • Perfect Pairs multipliers – 44x, 55x, 66x, 77x, 88x, 111x, 222x, 333x, 555x, or 888x.

Side Bets

The game offers 6 side bets in total, most of which are fairly common among live baccarat tables:

  • Player Pair wins if the Player’s first two cards are of the same rank, paying 11:1.
  • Banker Pair wins if the Banker’s first two cards are of the same rank, paying 11:1.
  • Either Pair wins if either the Player’s or the Banker’s first two cards are of the same rank, paying 5:1.
  • Perfect Pairs wins if either the Player’s or the Banker’s first two cards are of the same rank and suit, paying 25:1.
  • Small wins if the total number of cards drawn by Player and Banker is 4, paying 0.56:1.
  • Big wins if the total number of cards drawn by Player and Banker is 5 or 6, paying 1.5:1.

    Strategy Considerations

The good thing about Quantum Baccarat is that the house edge ratings for most bets are identical to standard baccarat. The 20% fee and the multipliers are perfectly balanced, which is commendable.

This means that your standard baccarat strategies will all work. The base principles, odds, and statistics of the game remain the same – at least as far as the main bets are concerned.

However, we have a few additional tips and tricks we’ve picked up during our time with the game:

    • The non-commissioned variant is strictly better than the commissioned version. Despite the changes and options, the commissioned Banker bet remains the statistically best wager you can make in the entire game.
    • However, the added multipliers actually improve the RTP of some wagers compared to the industry standards. For example, the Player Pair and Banker Pair side bets offer 95.08% RTP, while regular baccarat tables offer 89.64% for those same wagers. The Tie bet is similarly improved, offering 95.06% RTP – a massive improvement over the usual 85.6% offered by classic tables with 8:1 payouts.
    • As such, the side bets in this game are actually more worthwhile, as is the Tie. However, the main Player and Banker wagers are still the best in terms of house edge.
    • The 20% fee and volatile payouts mean that betting systems like the Martingale or Labouchere won’t work particularly well. Our advice is to stick with flat betting.
    • While up to 5 positions can be affected, most rounds only see 1 multiplier, maybe 2. If you want to hit as many multipliers as possible, you’ll have to place several wagers per round.
    • One strategy is to combine a “safe” bet, like the Banker, and one or two side bets – a Pair bet and Big/Small. This gives you decent coverage of various positions, increasing your chances of landing a multiplier. Moreover, the Big and Small side bets both have a decently high chance to win, which helps manage risk exposure.

    Payouts

Quantum Baccarat payouts are mostly industry-standard, including both the non-commissioned and commissioned versions. Of course, you should still keep in mind that a 20% fee is applied to all bets, which does not count towards the payout.

For example, if you wager $1 on a Player bet, you’ll have to pay $1.20 in total. If the bet wins, you’ll only receive $2, not $2.40.

You can find the full Quantum Baccarat table below, covering both the commissioned and non-commissioned variants.

    Interface & Usability

Quantum Baccarat uses a simple betting interface that looks the same as it does in most live dealer baccarat tables. The three main bets are located front and center, while the various side bets are arrayed above them.

The Quantum multipliers are marked by flashing blue visual effects – you can’t miss them. Once the betting period of any round ends, the effect will visibly flash across any affected positions. Also, the UI quite helpfully reminds you of the 20% commission.

The bottom of the overlay also contains several baccarat roadmaps, otherwise known as scoreboards. Their main job is to keep track of results and help you out, focusing on streaks and patterns over the previous 100 rounds or so. If you need help with reading baccarat scoreboards, check out this guide.

That said, a more clear-cut result history would have probably been better for a game like Quantum Baccarat. The history could show all multipliers, which bets they affected, and whether they won or not, giving us better insight into the stats of the Quantum number feature.

    Graphics & Live Dealer Experience

The game’s distinct visuals clearly mark it as a member of the Quantum family of games. The futuristic design and high-contrast color palette definitely look similar to Quantum Blackjack. However, Quantum Baccarat is still far from a game show. Unlike Quantum Roulette, though, the game’s flow and playing experience are fairly close to a classic live table experience. The dealers sit behind a classic felt table, deal out real cards, and largely focus on game announcements. In many ways, it’s just a baccarat table with a distinct sense of style.

Overall, though, it’s a good-looking game with unique visual elements and a strong technical foundation. As is to be expected from a Playtech product, the game works great on all types of devices, including tablets and mobile.

    Languages

    • Currently, the only available Quantum Baccarat stream is presented entirely in English.
    • However, the options menu allows you to change the language of in-game text. Language options include English, Arabic, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and more.

    Our Verdict

Quantum Baccarat is easily one of the best variations of the game to feature random multipliers.

Our reasoning for this verdict is simple: it’s straightforward, offers high RTP (higher than standard baccarat for some bets), and brings just enough innovation to the table to keep things interesting. Additionally, the game flow and moment-to-moment excitement don’t stray too far from the feeling of oringal baccarat, which is usually a recipe for success for games like these.

Naturally, it’s not for everyone. Many players won’t appreciate the added volatility – or the 20% fee that comes with it. However, there are plenty of classic live dealer punto banco tables out there that don’t feature bonuses or fees. This gives Quantum Baccarat a unique niche in the industry.

All in all, we can safely recommend Playtech Quantum Baccarat to anyone interested in a baccarat table that’s truly different. Fans of other Quantum-series games will likely find a lot to enjoy here as well.

How We Rate Live Casino Games

Our game reviews and ratings are based on a strict set of standards, which were developed over years of enjoying live casino games. However, our ratings also depend on comparable games and industry standards. Here are some of the factors we consider while reviewing games:

    • Graphics & Stream Quality – Although visuals are not the most important factor, they certainly matter. Good-looking games create a better and more immersive atmosphere. Moreover, the game’s graphics can set it apart from the competition.
    • UI and User-Friendliness – Well-designed games have intuitive interfaces that are easy to use and access. Our reviews also consider any additional UI elements such as betting options, performance settings, stats and histories, and more.
    • Payouts & RTP – How much your bets win is crucial for determining a casino game’s quality. A higher RTP is always better for us as players, making RTP one of the most objective ways to rate how good a particular game is.
    • Gameplay – This refers to how the game actually plays – whether it’s exciting, fun, engaging, and whether we’ve actually enjoyed playing it. This is extremely important for unique products such as Busted or Bailed Live.
    • Extra Features – This refers to any added features such as additional bonuses or UI elements.
    • Platform compatibility – We also rate how well a game performs on mobile devices, apps, etc.
    • Localization and Native-speaking Tables – Games with a lot of language options are more accessible to international audiences, which is why we consider such features as well.
