The Fashion TV brand is not completely unknown in the online gambling industry. In the past, we’ve seen them work with Portomaso Gaming to create roulette and Punto Banco tables. The games used Over The Table recordings from real casinos – specifically the Fashion TV lounge in Portomaso in Malta. Between that and the game’s age, however, the old Fashion TV Punto Banco looks quite dated by today’s standards.
The Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat combines classic baccarat with glamorous Fashion TV looks and a massive progressive feature. It’s all in the game’s name if you think about it.
This release marks the return of the Golden Dragon progressive jackpot in Playtech live games. Delivered through a modified Dragon Bonus side bet, it allows players to take a crack at a massive multi-game jackpot. The pot increases as more players play the side bet, and the sky is the limit. That said, previous experience with the Playtech Dragon Jackpot tells us that it tends to pay around $100,000. It has been known to grow all the way up to half a million, though.
As a disclaimer, Playtech’s Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat is not yet available to a wider audience. Anything we discuss in this review may be subject to change.
Fashion TV’s influence on this title is largely cosmetic. In other words, the glitzy studio is covered in a recognizable black and diamond pattern. The worldwide brand has been rather successful in drawing audiences to new live casino games. That said, this release is unique enough in its mechanics, so the looks are just a cherry on top.
Speaking of mechanics, the actual gameplay is all Playtech. That’s a good thing, too – we are talking about one of the most successful software providers in the business. The discontinued Progressive Baccarat is the main inspiration. The progressive pot is handled through a special feature side bet, though. The base game is as simple as any other game of baccarat.
If you’re a beginner, the goal of live casino baccarat is to predict which of two card hands will draw closer to 9. All cards with a value of 10 or more count as 10. However, only the last digit of the total is considered, which means 10s and face cards count as 0.
You can place bets on the Player, Banker, or Tie during the betting period. If the side you pick ends up closer to 9, you win! Alternatively, you can hope for a Tie and a larger payout.
Moreover, the Player hand draws a third card if its first two cards total 5 or less. The exception is a “natural”, two-card Banker 8 or 9, in which case Banker wins outright. If Player draws a third card, though, so does Banker. These rules give Banker bets a slight advantage, which means it also has a slightly smaller payout rate. However, if you play Play Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat for real money, keep in mind that Banker wins more consistently.
Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat payouts follow a typical structure of even-money returns for the two main bets. That said, a standard 5% commission is paid on all Banker bets due to its increased probability of success. This effectively turns the Banker bet’s returns into a 0.95:1.
The tie bet uses the usual 8:1 payout and has terrible RTP. As such, we suggest staying away from tie bets in Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat.

Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat RTP sits at 98.94% for the Banker bet, which is the strongest option in terms of the house edge. The Player bet instead has 98.76%, while the Tie wager comes with a whopping 14.36% house edge and 85.64% RTP.
As for the progressive Dragon side bet, the math is not that easy. The maximum payout grows as more people play the wager, after all. The base RTP sits at around 90.63%.

Fashion TV Jackpot Baccarat by Playtech is defined by access to the Golden Dragon jackpot. This feature is by no means new – it was previously available at some casinos as an option for the regular Playtech Baccarat tables. Many players missed this feature, and we’re glad that it is now available in a modern, high-quality game.
It’s fairly simple as far as baccarat side bets go, and it’s relatively similar to the Dragon Bonus. Just place the bet, and if one of the two hands wins a Natural 6 or greater, you win. Note: the stakes for the Fashion TV Baccarat jackpot side bet are usually limited to smaller amounts.
The payouts are increased substantially for Natural 7, 8, or 9. However, for the highest returns, you want a hand to draw an Ace and a Natural 8. Though unlikely, an Ace and 8 of the same suit can net you a whopping 10,000:1 payout.
If Player and Banker both draw a matching hand of suited Ace and 8, you win the progressive jackpot. This outcome is exceedingly unlikely, but the payout is usually in the hundreds of thousands. If multiple players place the Dragon Jackpot bet on the same table and win, they all share the pot equally.
7% of every Dragon Jackpot bet placed by any player goes towards the pot. This ensures that it will continually grow until someone wins it. Once someone does, it’s reset to a base seed of $20,000.
The way we see it, the return of the progressive Dragon jackpot is the most exciting part of this release. Progressive live casino games are still a bit of a niche in live dealer casinos, though. If an ever-growing community pot sounds like something you’re into, there aren’t many decent competitors for this game.
That said, the FashionTV brand influence is not to be ignored. It presents a flashy, fun alternative to typical Playtech live casino studio production.
Even without the live progressive baccarat features, it’s still a decent game. The betting options are relatively limited, but you can still play most optimal baccarat strategies and win.
