Mega Ball by Evolution is a live dealer casino game released in 2020. It boasts an RTP of 95.40% with a minimum bet of $0.10 and a $100 maximum wager. The game is available on both desktop and mobile and features unique live casino bingo mechanics.
Though online bingo games remain a niche market in the casino industry, there is certainly a demand for them. However, those looking to play bingo live with a presenter are woefully strapped for choices. As our Evolution Mega Ball review will show, however, that doesn’t mean there aren’t top-notch bingo products out there.

Of course, Evolution Gaming has to be the first to release a bingo/keno-style game in the live casino sector. It took a while, but we got there – Live Mega Ball was announced at ICE 2020. Not long after, we get to experience this unique format across all Evolution Gaming casino sites. Mega Ball is inspired by bingo draws but also features elements of a game show gambling game. This formula is something that the world’s leading live casino software provider has been experimenting with in the past years. With great success, if we may add.
Like all recent Evolution live dealer games, Mega Ball boasts a glitzy studio and animated hosts, both male and female. As you enter, the host/hostess will greet you and you’ll see the Ball Draw Machine with 51 balls spinning inside of it. The available cards (just like in bingo) are shown below the feed. Even though the game is similar to online bingo, there are many differences. For one, you are not playing against others and you don’t have to be the first to complete a line to win.
In short, the Mega Ball game from Evolution is something quite unique on the current market. Fans of bingo are sure to love it, but it’s worth checking out for the novelty alone.
Since it’s a fairly original concept, we’ll dive right into how Mega Ball works.
By joining the round of Mega Ball Live, you get to set card value and buy Mega Ball Cards. You can buy one, or you can buy as much as 200 at any one time. Each card contains 5×5 squares and the center square is unnumbered. The goal of the Mega Ball casino game is to combine lines out of winning numbers. This center square is a ‘joker’ and can substitute any number to form winning lines
The Ball Draw Machine is spun by the host once the betting time expires and 20 balls are drawn out of 51. The numbers are automatically marked on the purchased Mega Ball Cards. As the balls are drawn one by one, the cards are sorted automatically. The cards nearest to winning are placed at the top, so it’s quite easy to keep track of them.
By completing horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines, you win payouts. With each completed line on your card, your winnings grow exponentially.
When the full assortment of 20 balls is drawn, the time has come to draw the Mega Ball with a randomly generated multiplier. A special 21st number is picked at random. It’s quickly followed by a spin of the Wheel of Multipliers. Any winning lines which contain this 21st number have their winnings multiplied by the result.
Also, note that you can change the value of your cards or purchase more as long as the betting time lasts. For instance, if you wager $1 per card and change your mind, you can lower the stake to $0,50 per card. You can also “refresh” the card to change the numbers on it if you don’t like them. All numbers have the same chance of winning, though, so this doesn’t really affect Mega Ball strategy.
If you want to see how Evolution Mega Ball works in action, check out the video preview below. Since there is no Mega Ball demo available, this is the best way to see the game, its studio, and the player interface. The video specifically points out features like the Wheel of Multipliers and the engaging hosts.
Moreover, you can see what we mean when we compare Mega Ball to a game show. The experience is just as important as the mechanics, if not more. One thing is for sure – if you’re looking to play bingo online, you won’t find a more polished or well-made game out there. Especially not in live casinos.
The Mega Ball payouts structure is relatively simple, but the multipliers offer a lot of nuances as well. For example, a 1-line card generally merely pushes but can offer up to a whopping 100x payout when multiplied. If you don’t want to rely on bonus mechanics, though, you’ll need at least 3 lines on your card for the really massive wins.
In the Mega Ball paytable below, you can see the full range of possible outcomes. The payouts range from the lowest possible win with no multipliers to the highest theoretical payout.
|Evolution Live Mega Ball Payouts|
|One||1 - 100x|
|Two||5 - 500x|
|Three||50 - 5000x|
|Four||250 - 25000x|
|Five||1000 - 10000x|
|Six or more||10000 - 100000x|
As we mentioned, though, the highest payout in Mega Ball by Evolution is limited to $500,000. All of these payouts combine for a solid 95.30% RTP. While relatively low compared to most top live dealer casino games, this RTP is quite strong for bingo games.
The premise of Mega Ball is simple but interesting, so there isn’t much need for any extra padding. The most notable extra feature is the Wheel of Multipliers. However, it’s also instrumental to the core gameplay, so we already covered how it works in the How to Play section.
However, there are quite a few quality-of-life features that make the game easy to interact with. For example, you can find Auto Play in the bottom right. This feature allows you to set the number of cards, the stake per card, and the number of rounds you wish to wager in. You can then sit back, allow the game to do all the work, and enjoy the show.
Also, whenever you play Mega Ball for real money, you can easily track your spending in the history panel. There are also allow you to undo your selections before the betting time is over, as well as repeat last round’s wagers.
You’ll also find an information panel, settings menu, and several view modes in the upper right corner. As always with Evolution games, the live chat feature is tucked away to the left.
