Live Blackjack is one of Evolution’s flagship products and the title the well-known software provider has become famous for. Played with eight decks of cards, the game features standard European rules, with Perfect Pairs and 21+3 side wagers creating additional betting opportunities and improving the potential for big wins.

Streamed live from a casino studio in Riga, Latvia, Live Blackjack is played at several tables with different bet limits, where each table can accommodate up to seven players. However, due to the Bet Behind option, you can join in on the action at any moment in time, whereas the top-notch user interface and friendly croupiers will guide you through every aspect of the game with incredible ease.

Though this is one of Evolution’s oldest active games, you can still clearly see their trademark quality. Everything from the studio, to the stunning dealers, to the well-made interface – all of this can match up to the best live blackjack casino games out there.

How to Play Live Blackjack

As you arrive at the preferred live casino lobby, you need to select the Live Blackjack table that best suits your bankroll and playing style according to the table limits shown. Note that Evolution has dozens of different online blackjack tables with different limits. Overall, though, the lowest the limits go is $5. On the other hand, VIP and high-roller tables can have enormous bet maximums. Finally, choose one of six chip values in the bottom panel and click on a free bet position to place your bet.

A standard Blackjack wager is placed by clicking on the circle in front of the betting position. If all seven seats are taken, then simply place your bet on one of the Bet Behind sectors. You have a total of 15 seconds to place your wager and the dealer will then start drawing the cards. The dealer will always stand on 17 and Blackjack pays 3 to 2. This is a fairly player-friendly set of rules that became the live blackjack standard since this title’s release.

Other rules follow the Vegas Strip template. The 8 decks are shuffled when ¾ of the shoe passes. Pairs can be split at any moment, though split Aces only get one card. The dealer is allowed to peek for blackjack if their first card is an ace, after offering insurance for a 2:1 payout.

The only other thing you need to know on how to win Evolution live blackjack is the side bets. We’ll get to these in a moment.

Live Casino Best Tips for Live Blackjack

  • Side bets in Evolution are better balanced than most competing games, resulting in better RTPs. They’re still worse than the base game, though.
  • The deep deck penetration means that those who can count cards in blackjack can win a lot in this game.
  • The high RTP assumes you’re playing optimally and according to blackjack charts.

Live Blackjack Payouts

Experienced blackjack players will immediately recognize this payout table as identical to most top blackjack live games. There’s a simple reason for that – most use Evolution’s title as a blueprint. The payouts are fair and thought-out, which results in the game’s strong RTP rate.

Regular 1:1
Blackjack 3:2
Blackjack Insurance 2:1
Perfect Pairs Side Bet
Mixed Pair 6:1

It’s also worth noting that the side bets in Live Blackjack by Evolution are fairly strong compared to most of the competition. Namely, Mixed Pairs pay 6:1 and Three of a Kind pays 30:1, which is higher than most live dealer blackjack games. As a result, Perfect Pairs and 21+3 offer an RTP of 95.90% and 96.30%, respectively.

Special Features

The premise of this release is to be a straightforward game of online blackjack. As such, it’s not cluttered by unnecessary features and extra mechanics. It’s pure, unadulterated blackjack, which thousands of players love.

First of all, there’s Bet Behind. Most of you probably already know what is Bet Behind in Blackjack. This option simply allows you to wager on the results of other people’s hands. This can be useful if there are no more seats available, or if you enjoy the communal aspects of the game.

Beyond that, the two side bets on offer are the most common and simple blackjack side bets – Perfect Pairs and 21+3

  • Perfect Pairs allows players to wager on whether the two cards they first draw will form a pair. The payout increases if the two cards are also of the same color. Two completely identical cards (For example, two Jacks of Clubs) give out the biggest return at 25:1.
  • 21+3 allows players to form simple poker hands using their two first cards and the dealer’s up card. The more powerful the poker hand, the better the payout. For the biggest profit of 100:1, you’ll need three identical cards of the same suit.

Languages

  • Depending on your Evolution casino of choice, you may have access to a range of native-speaking blackjack tables. Currently available languages include Dutch, German, Flemish, Greek, Turkish, English, Danish, Russian, Swedish, and Italian. Moreover, the game itself allows you to change the language of the interface. Your options include English, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.

Our Verdict of Live Blackjack

All of you who think that Live Blackjack is nothing more than the classic casino game placed in a live dealer environment are definitely wrong.

This title is Evolution’s pride and joy and is so much more than that. They have improved every aspect of the game to make it as exciting as possible, with Bet Behind feature, two side bets, live chat option, excellent limits and a premium user interface taking regular Blackjack to a whole new level.

Evolution Blackjack is not just another classic game of 21 live. It’s a flagship – a blueprint against which all other blackjack games are judged.

Unless you’re looking for a specific mechanic or an obscure side bet, Live Blackjack by Evolution is everything you need in a game of this type.
