Ezugi EZ Baccarat: Our Review, How and Where to Play

!DISCLOSURE
Ezugi by Ezugi

EZ Baccarat Live is a variant of live casino baccarat that removes the usual 5% commission on Banker bets in exchange for special rules that make those bets push when they would otherwise win. While many no-commission baccarat tables implement similar rules, Ezugi EZ Baccarat stands out because these rules don’t come into play quite as often. As a result, the game boasts a very low house edge at 98.98% RTP, which is higher than most standard versions of the game. Moreover, the game is streamed from Ezugi’s brand-new baccarat studios, which help the game look better than most other titles in this provider’s portfolio.

In this review of EZ Baccarat by Ezugi, we’ll explain how the game works and the importance of the special rules it introduces. We’ll also offer a breakdown of the game’s stats and features, highlighting how it differs from most other live casino baccarat games.

When Ezugi first announced EZ baccarat, we were confident that it was going to be another hybrid RNG release like EZ Dealer Roulette or EZ Bingo 90. We’re glad we were wrong this time. For starters, EZ Baccarat is a true-blooded live casino table. It runs a 24/7 stream from a real studio with real dealers handling real cards – just the way we like it.

As it turns out, EZ Baccarat is an established brand variant of the classic casino game. It’s already available in hundreds of locations across the US and Canada. From the outside, it seems like a straightforward no-commission baccarat table – it removes the 5% commission on Banker bets, but makes those bets push in certain circumstances. However, once you take a closer look at the game’s info panel, you’ll quickly find that the banker bet boasts 98.98% RTP. That’s more than most other no-commission tables, which typically suffer from a reduced RTP rate of 98.56%.

If you’re a fan of the classic game of punto banco, a version that changes up the math model while keeping most of the rules the same should sound very interesting. Assuming you don’t mind the rule alterations, this makes EZ Baccarat one of the best versions of baccarat in live casinos – which is high praise in this day and age.

Another interesting highlight is that Tie bets pay 9:1 instead of the usual 8:1. Considering Ezugi usually pays 8:1 like most live dealer baccarat suppliers, this likely comes down to the fact that EZ Baccarat is licensed from an outside game-maker. Either way, the conclusion is that this variant offers better odds than most of the competition. It also looks great and works well from a technical standpoint, which is not surprising coming from a provider of Ezugi’s renown.

How to Play EZ Baccarat

As far as most rules and gameplay are concerned, EZ Baccarat operates pretty much the same as traditional baccarat tables and follows standard rules with only a single exception. If you need a refresher on how it all works, make sure to check out our tutorial.

The objective, as with all baccarat games, is to predict whether the Player or Banker will draw cards with a total value closer to 9, or if the round will end in a Tie.

Each side draws two cards, with the option for a third card based on baccarat third card rules. Most cards count as their face value, though all cards 10 or stronger simply count as a 0. Additionally, any hand total exceeding 10 only counts as its first digit. For example, a total hand value of 16 counts as a score of 6.

There are three basic bets in EZ Baccarat – Player, Banker, and Tie. If you bet on the Player side and it ends up with a hand value that’s closer to 9 than the Banker’s, you win. Conversely, if you make a Player bet and the Player hand ends up with a stronger score, you win. Both Banker and Player main bets pay even money.

The unique rule that separates EZ baccarat from other Baccarat tables is that Banker bets push if they win the round with 3 cards and a hand total of 7. This means that Banker bets don’t win, but are considered a Tie, and everyone with an active Banker bet has their full stake returned to them. Despite these special rules, Banker bets are still slightly more likely to win and offer a lower house edge than Player bets.

Alternatively, you can predict that the round will end in a Tie. This wager is much less likely to win but offers a higher payout at 9:1. Interestingly, this is a better prize than most other baccarat tables, which only pay 8:1. This makes this wager more viable than on most other baccarat tables. However, it still suffers from a substantially higher house edge than the other main bets. IF the round ends in a Tie, all Player and Banker bets have half of their stake returned to them.

EZ Baccarat uses 8 decks of standard playing cards, and the shoe is shuffled after around half of them have been played through.

Side Bets

Ezugi EZ Baccarat offers two optional side bets. These wagers tie into the special rules that are unique to this variant of the game. That means that you won’t find them on any other table, unlike most standard baccarat side bets. However, they’re also quite simple and have only a single win condition:

  • Dragon 7 – This wager wins if Banker bets push. In other words, this side bet predicts that the Banker will win with three cards totalling 7. It pays 40:1, meaning it’s not very likely to win but offers a solid option for players who want bigger payouts.
  • Panda 8 – This side bet wins if the Player wins with three cards totalling 8. It’s a sort of inverted version of Dragon 7 with higher probability but a lower payout at 25:1. However, it also offers substantially lower RTP than Dragon 7, which makes it the worse option between the two.

You can place any of these wagers in any round, regardless of whether you have an active main bet or what that main bet is. Although unique, these bets still have the same issue as most baccarat side bets – low RTP. As such, we recommend that most beginners simply stick with the basic Banker and Player bets.

EZ Baccarat Strategy & Tips

Since the rules of EZ Baccarat are largely similar to the industry standard, all of the usual baccarat strategies can be used here to improve your chances of success. That said, baccarat is largely a game of chance, and the unique rules of this variant don’t change that. As such, don’t expect to affect things too much by strategising.

However, understanding the odds of baccarat can help you maximize winnings and minimize losses – especially in the long run. Here are some tips that we used to create our own EZ baccarat strategy:

  • Like in standard commissioned baccarat, the Banker bet is still the best option in every round. It offers 98.98% RTP, which is slightly higher than the Player bet’s 98.76%.
  • All other wagers, including the side bets, offer substantially lower returns.
  • As such, the statistically best way to play EZ baccarat is to repeatedly bet on the Banker and make no other wagers. This is also true for most other variants of the game.
  • We especially advise you to stay away from the side bets. Although they offer attractive payouts, their RTP is much lower than the trio of main wagers – even the Tie.
  • Betting on a Tie is a common rookie mistake in baccarat. However, this version of the game pays 9:1 instead of the usual 8:1. While the Tie bet still trails far behind Player and Banker, playing it is not as big of a mistake as it usually is.
  • EZ Baccarat is relatively fast-paced by design. Use features such as Autoplay to make things easier, or you might end up missing a few rounds due to the short wagering times.

EZ Baccarat Paytable

Player and Banker bets in EZ Baccarat pay an even 1:1. As noted above, Banker bets don’t have the usual 5% commission, but they push whenever Banker wins with a 3-card total of 7.

Additionally, Tie bets pay a higher-than-average rate of 9:1. This isn’t a big enough increase to make Tie bets a good option, but it’s still better than what you would find in most other live dealer baccarat games.

EZ Baccarat House Edge & RTP

The game offers a different RTP rate for every available bet. According to Ezugi’s information, the rates are as follows:

  • Player: 98.76%
  • Banker: 98.98%
  • Tie: 95.16%
  • Dragon 7: 92.39%
  • Panda 8: 89.81%

We can highlight a few important details here:

  • The Player bet’s RTP is the same as in most other versions of baccarat, including regular commission and no-commission variants
  • The Banker bet RTP is higher than in commission (98.94% RTP) and no-commission versions (98.56%). This makes EZ Baccarat the statistically best no-commission table on the market.
  • Tie bets offer 95.16% RTP compared to the 85.6% RTP you will find on tables that pay 8:1.
  • The side bets are a poor option for your long-term returns. While they’re not bad by baccarat side bet standards, they still come with a massive house advantage that is best avoided.

Interface & Usability

The betting interface is very similar to those seen in other baccarat games. The various betting positions are placed front and centre, and they’re quite easy to navigate due to the simple and intuitive layout. Making any bet is a simple matter of selecting the desired stake, clicking on the betting position, and confirming your selections.

The game also allows you to set up auto-play, though the option is a bit hidden. You will first have to click on the white button in the lower right corner, above the scoreboards. This window allows you to instruct the game to automatically place identical bets in a pre-set number of upcoming rounds.

Beyond that, EZ Baccarat from Ezugi also offers a standard selection of baccarat scoreboards, also known as roadmaps. The UI features the Big Road, Big Eye Boy, Small Road, and Streak roads. If you want to know more about baccarat roadmaps and how to read them, check out our guide to scoreboards in baccarat.

Graphics & Presentation

The game is streamed from a a great-looking, modern studio. It will probably look familiar to you if you’ve played on Ezugi baccarat tables below, and they’re also quite similar to Evolution’s lineup. The studio is purpose-made specifically for EZ baccarat, and the logo of the game’s brand can be found on several parts of the UI. Like most other baccarat games, the studio takes inspiration from East Asian cultures and aesthetics.

Beyond that, we can only praise the game’s technical implementation. The stream runs 24/7, and we haven’t encountered any technical issues. Although there are only two camera angles, the video and audio quality are excellent, and there are no issues with connectivity, responsiveness, or overall use.

Live Dealer Experience

The great thing about EZ baccarat is that it doesn’t really change what people know and love about punto banco. The differences in rules and odds are very small, so you probably won’t even know they’re there most of the time.

That’s why the game is presented in typical fashion for this type of game. It largely simulates the experience of playing at a real-life baccarat table, which means the croupiers are largely focused on announcing results and information pertinent to the current round.

Languages

  • Only a single live EZ Baccarat table is currently available, and it’s presented entirely in English
  • The text language in the interface can be changed to English, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Bulgarian, Hindi, Italian, Danish, French, Arabic, Malay, Dutch, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Romanian, Czech, Greek, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Lithuanian, Latvian, or Finnish

Our Verdict

EZ Baccarat is one of the best live baccarat tables out there for players who want to avoid the 5% Banker bet commission. Its unique ruleset and high RTP rate help it stand out from other no-commission tables, and the side bets add another unique twist to the usual formula.

Granted, not everyone will be a fan of the rule changes. We admit that getting a Push on what was supposed to be a winning bet doesn’t feel great. However, this scenario doesn’t really happen that often, and the 1:1 payouts on both bets are useful for easier money management and using strategies like betting systems.

Beyond that, we have nothing but praise for the game’s looks and technical implementation. EZ Baccarat is one of the best-looking games we’ve seen Ezugi put out. It’s not very flashy or eye-catching, but it offers the kind of gameplay experience you could expect from a real-life EZ Baccarat table.

All in all, EZ Baccarat is a highlight in Ezugi’s baccarat portfolio. Considering this provider was one of the leaders of this niche even before they released EZ baccarat, it’s safe to say that their punto banco lineup got even more impressive.

How We Rate Live Casino Games

Our game reviews and ratings are based on strict review standards which were developed over many years of playing and analyzing live dealer games of all sorts. Here are some of the key factors we consider before giving our recommendation:

  • Graphics & Stream Quality – Although visuals are not the most important factor, they certainly matter. Good-looking games create a better and more immersive atmosphere. Moreover, the game’s graphics can set it apart from the competition.
  • UI and User-Friendliness – Well-designed games have intuitive interfaces that are easy to use and access. Our reviews also consider any additional UI elements such as betting options, performance settings, stats and histories, and more.
  • Payouts & RTP – How much your bets win is crucial for determining a casino game’s quality. A higher RTP is always better for us as players, making RTP one of the most objective ways to rate how good a particular game is.
  • Gameplay – This refers to how the game actually plays – whether it’s exciting, fun, engaging, and whether we’ve actually enjoyed playing it.
  • Extra Features – This refers to any added features, such as additional bonuses or UI elements.
  • Platform compatibility – We also rate how well a game performs on mobile devices, apps, etc.
  • Localization and Native-speaking Tables – Games with a lot of language options are more accessible to international audiences, which is why we consider such features as well.
