Thankfully, live casino game providers figured out another alternative. What if they were to simulate a classic 5-player poker game and have players observe it from a neutral, third person? Then, players are able to predict which of the five hands will win the round, and in which way.
That’s exactly how TVBet poker works. You’re essentially observing a game of Texas Hold’em and betting on which simulated player will win.
This is by no means the first time we’ve seen a live poker game in this format. Playtech Bet on Poker, Betconstruct Bet on Poker, and Betgames Poker all feature similar ideas and implementations.
TVBet’s version gives players a new option, and it’s mostly focused on increased accessibility. The betting system is a lot simpler than in these competing tables,
While TVBet Poker is unique in that you’re not playing poker in the classic sense, knowing the rules will help you immensely. Specifically, you’ll want to know how every hand in poker works and their relative strength.
Secondly, payouts in TVBet are not fixed and depend on a dynamically changing set of betting odds. Basically, the reward for a winning bet depends on how likely it was to win at the moment you placed it. The more likely your predicted outcome is to happen, the smaller the payout – and vice versa.
The main game has six betting positions, numbered from 1 to 6. These are the six hands that you will be betting on. Your goal is to predict which of these six positions will win a round of Hold ’em-style poker.
You can start betting before the cards are dealt. At this point, it’s all about luck, and every position offers odds of 5.29.
At the beginning of every round, a single standard deck of 52 cards is shuffled. Each of the six hands is dealt two cards face-up.
The game will then adjust the betting odds for each of the six hands. The odds are based on the relative strength of these cards – stronger hands get smaller odds and pay less if they win. Conversely, seemingly weaker hands award higher prizes.
The main bets simply predict which of the six hands will win when the round ends, though there are additional betting options. You can add any number of bets at any of the betting windows during any round with no restrictions.
After a short betting period, the first three community cards will be dealt. This is called the Flop.
During the Flop, three community cards are placed at the table’s centre and used by all six card hands. At this point, you should start noticing poker hands being formed – pairs, flushes, and so on.
After the flop, the odds for every possible bet will be recalculated. Essentially, we have more information about the current round, so each bet has new probabilities and payouts. If you were to add any new bets at this moment, you would have to use the new, altered odds.
After a short betting period, the next community card is revealed. This is followed by new odds, a new betting period, and then the last card. These last two cards are often called the River and Turn.
After all five community cards have been revealed, the round ends. The hand with the highest-ranking poker hand wins, and all main bets associated with it win.
The TVBet Poker live casino game offers a sort of side bet called Combination bets.
The goal of this wager is not to predict which of the five “players” will win, but the strongest overall poker hand that will win the round.
For example, if you place a Combination bet on a Flush, your bet wins if the strongest hand in the round ends up being a Flush.
The odds and payouts for Combination bets also change depending on which cards are already on the table. The less likely a certain outcome, the better the payout, and vice versa.
However, you cannot place Combination bets on hands that are already present on the table. For example, if one of the six hands is already showing a Pair, you can’t place a Pair Combination bet.
Due to its setup and implementation, TVBet Poker is largely a game of chance. Since the payouts dynamically change to account for the probability of every outcome, you can’t really beat the game by calculating the probabilities and how they affect the house edge. Instead, the game’s RTP is more or less constant as the odds update.

Unlike most other casino games, there are no fixed payouts in TVBet Poker. As previously mentioned, the odds change as the game progresses. The more likely a position is to win at that point in the game, the lower the odds will be.
The initial ‘blind’ betting odds are set at 5.2, but this changes as soon as the first cards are dealt. Players then get 3 additional chances to wager, and each of these offers different odds because the stage of the game and the cards present on the table all affect the game’s probabilities.

According to the official information provided by TVBet, the RTP for the main bets in their Poker game ranges from 85% to 94.5%.
That said, it’s difficult to measure how much any bet offers at any individual stage. According to third-party sources, the best time to bet is during the initial stage. However, there is no direct information beyond that.
To be frank, such odds are not exactly great. First of all, a maximum RTP of 94.5% is fairly low by live casino standards. Second of all, games that directly compete with TVBet Poker offer stronger odds. For reference, Playtech’s Bet on Poker offers an initial payout of 5.29x for an overall RTP rate of 96%. Betconstruct Bet on Poker offers an initial payout of 5.4x for an even better payout rate of up to 97%.
In other words, there are demonstrably superior versions of this same exact style of poker offered by other software providers.

TVBet Poker stands out from other TVBet games because it uses a more standard betting interface. Whereas games like 1Bet employ a system of betting slips, the poker game relies on typical betting positions.
The six main betting positions are located next to their corresponding hands, so you can’t get them mixed up. That said, the game has 4 betting periods in total, and it doesn’t clearly show you whether you have any active bets from previous stages during the current round. Of course, the game offers a bet history window, but we would have liked to have this information available on the main betting screen.
The combination bets and their respective odds are on the left side of the screen. They’re also useful as an indicator of the strongest current hand at the table. For example, if Two Pair combination bets are unavailable, that means at least one of the six positions is currently showing Two Pairs.
Although the interface is fairly usable and intuitive, it’s also not exactly pretty. It just looks like a dull grey/white overlay over the game stream. It’s nice and clean, but it makes the whole game look a bit generic. A little effort goes a long way when it comes to UI design, but at least TVBet kept usability as a priority.
Beyond that, the studio is a bit odd. The game table is a classic felt table, but the background appears to be a greenscreen with visuals that try to appear as some sort of Monaco-based pleasure yacht. It’s an odd choice and we can’t say that we’re impressed with how it looks as a whole – a classic live casino studio would have been a simpler but better choice.
On the flip side, we’re quite impressed with how entertaining and professional the croupiers are. They were quite communicative and pleasant during our time with this TVBet Poker review, despite the fact that they have a lot to do during a typical round.
Beyond that, the game offers a classic live dealer experience with no unnecessary fluff or added showmanship. It looks, feels, and plays like a classic casino table game, which suits most poker players.
TVBet’s Poker game is a welcome addition to their innovative portfolio. It uses the established “bet on poker” formula to create a fun, highly interactive, and relatively complicated way to play poker at an online casino.
However, this isn’t exactly a completely new idea. Other companies have already released titles with similar mechanics that offer identical gameplay but superior odds. This means that it’s hard to recommend TVBet Poker over, for example, Betconstruct Bet on Poker. Betconstruct’s version plays the same while offering higher payouts across the board, which makes it objectively better for players.
To be fair to TVBet, their version is a bit more accessible. It accepts lower wagers and keeps things simpler by offering fewer side betting options and keeping the attention focused on the poker itself.
All in all, TVBet Poker is a fine game that can provide a lot of excitement for any fan of poker or card games in general. However, the overall offer pales in comparison to some of the competition.
