As the name implies, Family Feud Live takes inspiration from the acclaimed family-based game show. Famous for its charismatic hosts like Steve Harvey, the show is an institution of American television.

In 2025, Playtech, a leading provider of live casino games, parnered up with MGM Grand in Las Vegas to vreate a casino game themed around the show. Playtech seem like the perfect fit for this, considering their vast experience with both game shows and branded titles. Their famous game shows include Adventures Beyond Wonderland and The Money Drop, while some of their earlier branded content included Jumanji: The Bonus Level and Who Wants to Be A Millionaire Roulette.

Family Feud looks quite impressive from the get-go: the game is streamed 24/7 from a custom-built glass-walled studio on the casino floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, allowing both online players and casino patrons to witness the action simultaneously. This unique setup creates an authentic Las Vegas atmosphere that no European studio can replicate, complete with the sounds, energy, and excitement of a real casino environment.

As an officially licensed adaptation of the iconic television game show, Family Feud Live uses real survey questions from the TV show’s extensive archives, ensuring players experience the authentic “Survey Says!” moments they know and love. The game combines traditional wheel-based mechanics with four distinct bonus rounds, each themed around different aspects of the classic Family Feud format.

How to Play Family Feud Live

Family Feud Live is a wheel-based game show where players bet on where they think the wheel will land. Each game round follows this structure:

  • Betting Phase: Place your chips on numbered positions (1-5) or bonus round positions (Survey Says, Super Survey, Fast Money, Buzzer Round)
  • Mystery Multiplier Assignment: Before the wheel spins, one position is randomly selected to receive a Mystery Multiplier (2x-200x for numbers, 2x-10x for bonuses)
  • Wheel Spin: The 54-segment vertical wheel is spun by the game show host
  • Result Determination: The wheel stops on one segment, determining winners
  • Payout or Bonus: If it lands on a number, instant payouts are made; if it lands on a bonus position, the corresponding bonus round is triggered.

All of the bets and outcomes are determined by the massive wheel.

The number bets are simple multiplier wins: If you predict that the wheel flapper will land on a 5 and it does, you get a 5x win. The number positions are split into colors, but these colors are only relevant for the Mystery Multiplier feature we’ll discuss below.

Winning a bonus bet means that you qualify for the bonus round.

The table below shows a complete breakdown of all bets in Family Feud Live, as well as their likelihood of winning.

Position Segments Colors Base Multiplier Probability
Number 1 18 (9 Blue + 9 Gold) Blue/Gold split 1x ~33.3%
Number 2 12 (6 Blue + 6 Gold) Blue/Gold split 2x ~22.2%
Number 3 10 (5 Blue + 5 Gold) Blue/Gold split 3x ~18.5%
Number 4 6 (3 Blue + 3 Gold) Blue/Gold split 4x ~11.1%
Number 5 4 (2 Blue + 2 Gold) Blue/Gold split 5x ~7.4%
Survey Says 2 segments N/A Bonus Round ~3.7%
Super Survey 1 segment N/A Bonus Round ~1.85%
Fast Money 1 segment N/A Bonus Round ~1.85%
Buzzer Round 1 segment N/A Bonus Round ~1.85%

Understanding the Mystery Multiplier

The Mystery Multiplier is the game’s most exciting feature, capable of transforming modest wins into massive payouts.

Before each spin, one position (including its color for numbered positions) is randomly chosen to receive the Mystery Multiplier. Any payouts from that position winning are replaced by the multiplier.

For number positions, only half of the numbers on the wheel are affected – either blue or gold. The multipliers range from 2x to 100x, with higher multipliers being rarer.

Bonus positions can only receive multipliers of 2x-10x, but the multiplier increases any winnings from the bonus round rather than replacing it.

  • Example: If you bet $10 on Number 3 and the Mystery Multiplier of 50x lands on “3 Blue,” you’ll win $500 if the wheel stops on 3 Blue, but only $30 if it stops on 3 Gold

The Four Bonus Rounds

Family Feud Live features four distinct bonus rounds, each triggered when the wheel lands on its corresponding segment. Only players who placed bets on that specific bonus position participate actively, while others watch as spectators.

1. Survey Says (2 Wheel Segments)

How It Works:

  • Players are presented with 6 numbered cells on a game board
  • Each cell contains a hidden answer from a classic Family Feud survey question
  • Each answer corresponds to a hidden multiplier ranging from 5x to 50x
  • Multipliers are briefly shown, then shuffled and hidden
  • Players select one cell to reveal both the survey answer and multiplier
  • The revealed multiplier is applied to your bet for instant payout
  • This is purely chance-based with no skill element

Example: You bet $20 on Survey Says. The wheel lands on it, and you pick cell #3, which reveals “Pizza” with a 30x multiplier. You win $600 ($20 × 30).

2. Super Survey (1 Wheel Segment)

How It Works:

  • Enhanced version of Survey Says with 6 numbered cells
  • Key difference: Players pick THREE answers instead of just one
  • Each of the three selected cells reveals a multiplier
  • All three multipliers are added together for your total multiplier
  • Multipliers range from 5x to 50x per cell
  • Potential for massive combined multipliers (up to 150x if picking three 50x cells)
  • Higher risk, higher reward compared to standard Survey Says

Example: You bet $25 on Super Survey. You pick three cells that reveal multipliers of 20x, 35x, and 15x. Combined total: 70x. You win $1,750 ($25 × 70).

3. Fast Money (1 Wheel Segment)

How It Works:

  • Players are shown 6 numbered cells arranged in a grid
  • Each cell contains a hidden multiplier ranging from 3x to 200x
  • Cells are revealed one by one automatically in random order
  • Your goal: Accumulate multipliers before hitting three “X” strikes
  • Each revealed cell either adds its multiplier to your total or shows an “X”
  • The round continues until three strikes appear OR all cells are revealed
  • Your final payout = bet amount × sum of all revealed multipliers
  • This is the bonus round with the highest potential (200x max)

Strike Rules:

  • Up to three strikes can appear during the round
  • If three strikes appear, the bonus round ends immediately
  • You still receive the sum of all multipliers collected before the third strike
  • If you avoid three strikes, you collect all multipliers from all cells

Example: You bet $15 on Fast Money. Cells reveal: 25x, 40x, X, 15x, X, 50x. Total multipliers: 130x. You win $1,950 ($15 × 130).

4. Buzzer Round (1 Wheel Segment)

How It Works:

  • Players face a 5-level multiplier ladder displayed on screen
  • Ladder levels in ascending order: 20x, 25x, 35x, 60x, 100x
  • You start at the bottom (20x level) and must decide whether to climb
  • At each level, you choose to either “Cash Out” or “Risk It” to climb higher
  • Successfully climbing reveals the next higher multiplier
  • However, a “Buzzer” can appear at any level, ending the round
  • If the buzzer sounds, you lose everything and receive 0x
  • Strategy: Balance greed vs. security – higher multipliers = higher buzzer risk

Decision Points:

  • Level 1 (20x): Safe starting point, low buzzer risk
  • Level 2 (25x): Slightly increased risk for modest gain
  • Level 3 (35x): Moderate risk, decent multiplier increase
  • Level 4 (60x): High risk zone, buzzer more likely
  • Level 5 (100x): Maximum risk, maximum reward

Example: You bet $30 on Buzzer Round. You successfully climb to level 3 (35x) and decide to cash out. You win $1,050 ($30 × 35). If you’d risked going to level 4 and hit the buzzer, you’d win nothing.

Strategy & Tips

Broadly speaking, the RTP of wheel-based game shows is different for every bet. Unfortunately, though, Playtech hasn’t provided us with the official return-to-player rates for every bet. All we know is that the highest RTP in the game is 96%.

Based on our experience with game shows, this figure likely refers to the low number bets, such as 1 or 2. These bets typically give the most consistent returns but don’t have high profit potential.

However, based on recent trends from Playtech, we can also assume that the other bets are not far worse off – likely in the 95-96% RTP. This is especially important for bonus rounds, which are the natural goal of most game show players.

Based on this experience, we can recommend a few simple strategies for getting the most out of Family Feud Live.

Recommended Betting Strategy

  • Focus majority of bets on Numbers 1 and 2: These offer the best mathematical value with the highest RTP, and will keep your bankroll topped up as you hunt for better wins.
  • Allocate 60-70% of your session bankroll to Number 1: Highest hit frequency and best long-term returns mean that this is the best “safety” bet.
  • Put 30-40% on Bonus bets: Split your remaining bankroll between the bonus bets that you find most attractive. Wagering on all four is viable if your bankroll can cover the minimum bet.
  • Avoid heavy betting on Numbers 4 and 5: Lower RTP and hit frequency make these statistically inferior choices.
  • Never chase the Mystery Multiplier: It’s assigned randomly, and trying to predict it is futile.

Mystery Multiplier Considerations

  • It’s pure RNG – don’t try to predict it: The Mystery Multiplier assignment is completely random
  • View it as a pleasant surprise, not a strategy: Don’t build betting decisions around chasing it
  • Higher multipliers (100x-200x) are extremely rare: Don’t expect them frequently
  • Most Mystery Multipliers will be 2x-10x range: Manage expectations accordingly
  • Color matters for numbered positions: The Mystery Multiplier only applies if both number AND color match

What NOT to Do

  • Don’t use betting systems (Martingale, etc.): They don’t overcome house edge and risk massive losses
  • Don’t bet your entire bankroll on one spin: Even with 98% RTP, you can lose
  • Don’t play when emotional or intoxicated: Clear judgment is essential for responsible play
  • Don’t expect to beat the house long-term: The house edge ensures the casino profits over time
  • Don’t ignore your budget for “one more spin”: Discipline separates entertainment from problem gambling

Pros and Cons of Family Feud Live from Las Vegas by Playtech

Pros Cons

✅ Classic money-wheel gameplay with innovative bonus rounds

✅ Officially licensed Family Feud branding and survey questions

✅ Mystery Multiplier up to 200x adds massive win potential

✅ Four distinct bonus rounds provide excellent variety

✅ Glass-walled studio visible to MGM Grand patrons

✅ Professional, energetic game show presenters

❌ Average RTP by game show standards, and low RTP by broader casino game standards

❌ Not available to United States players despite Vegas location

❌ No accurate information for per-bet RTP rates

❌ Pure luck, no skill element

Payouts & RTP

Every bet in this game has a base payout. All bets can also be increased by the multiplier feature. With that in mind, every wager has a fairly wide and volatile range of possible outcomes.

This is especially true for the bonus rounds, which have volatility built into their mechanics on top of the multipliers.

You’ll find all of these win ranges on the table below for easy reference.

Bet Payout
Number Bets
1 1-100:1
2 2-100:1
3 3-100:1
4 4-100:1
5 5-100:1
Bonus Bets
Survey Says 4-499:1
Super Survey 11-3,999:1
Fast Money 4-999:1
Buzzer Round 4-999:1

RTP & House Edge

Unfortunately, though, there’s not a lot to say about the game’s RTP due to the lack of information. All we know is that 96% is the ‘optimal RTP’, which means it’s the highest. It’s likely available in the low-number bets, such as 1 or 2. However, we don’t have accurate data on the other wagers, and we don’t know exactly how worse they are.

That said, that’s pretty much standard fare for game shows. We can assume that the figures are competitive with comparable games, such as Adventures Beyond Wonderland.

Interface & User Experience

The betting panel occupies the bottom portion of the screen, featuring clearly labeled positions for all five numbered bets and four bonus rounds. Each betting position displays the current base multiplier, making it easy to understand potential payouts at a glance.

During bonus rounds, the interface seamlessly transitions to dedicated screens for each game type. Survey Says and Super Survey present the numbered cells as large, tappable buttons with smooth animations when revealing answers and multipliers. Fast Money displays cells in a grid format with dramatic reveal animations as each multiplier or strike appears. The Buzzer Round showcases the multiplier ladder vertically with clear “Cash Out” and “Risk It” buttons at each level.

The statistics panel provides a comprehensive game history, showing recent winning positions, largest wins, and Mystery Multiplier occurrences. Players can track hot and cold numbers, though these patterns are purely historical and don’t influence future outcomes. Game settings allow audio adjustment, quick bet options, and display preferences.

All in all, it’s a fairly common setup for a game of this type and pedigree, so we’re not surprised the usability is up to snuff.

Graphics & Visual Design

The visual presentation of Family Feud Live represents Playtech’s most ambitious live casino production to date, leveraging its unique Las Vegas location to maximum effect. The glass-walled studio on the MGM Grand casino floor serves as the centerpiece, creating a genuine Vegas atmosphere that simply cannot be replicated.

Camera work employs professional broadcast standards with multiple HD cameras capturing different angles. Wide shots establish the casino floor setting and convey the scale of the production, while close-ups during wheel spins create tension as the segment pointer slows. During bonus rounds, the camera pulls in tight on the game boards.

Obviously, the visuals themselves are all about the Family Feud branding. This refers to everything from the wheel and bonus game design to Steve Harvey’s moustachioed face appearing everywhere. There are a lot of callbacks there for fans of the show, and the production is overall quite impressive.

All in all, this Playtech title puts a lot of stock in its visuals, and it delivers an impressive product.

Live Dealer Experience

The game show presenters (or hosts) in Family Feud Live embody the energetic, personable style that made the television show an enduring success for decades. Playtech recruited experienced hosts who understand game show pacing, audience engagement, and the specific rhythms of the Family Feud format.

Unlike some live casino dealers who maintain a more reserved, professional demeanor, Family Feud hosts actively channel the enthusiasm and warmth of TV game show hosts, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition rather than cold casino gambling.

The unique Las Vegas location adds an interesting dynamic to the presenter experience. Hosts occasionally acknowledge the casino floor visible through the glass walls, sometimes commenting on MGM Grand patrons watching the production or referencing the authentic Vegas setting.

Languages

  • Currently, the only available Family Feud live stream is presented entirely in English.
  • However, the options menu allows you to change the language of in-game text. Language options include English, Arabic, Albanian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and more.

Our Verdict

Family Feud Live represents a significant achievement in live casino gaming, successfully translating an iconic television franchise into an engaging gambling experience while maintaining authenticity to its source material. Combined with its unique Las Vegas streaming location and professional game show production values, Family Feud Live offers something genuinely different in a crowded market of wheel-based games.

With games like these, the bonues rounds can make or break the experience. This is where Playtech’s work is most impressive – the four bonus rounds provide excellent variety without becoming overwhelming, each offering distinct gameplay experiences that justify their place in the lineup. Survey Says delivers quick pick-and-win excitement, Super Survey increases involvement with triple selections, Fast Money creates strike-based tension, and Buzzer Round introduces genuine strategic decision-making with its risk-vs-reward ladder mechanics.

However, Family Feud Live does have limitations that prevent a perfect score. For starters, the 96% RTP is not impressive in this day and age, even for game shows. Additionally, the maximum 4000x win potential, while decent, pales in comparison to competitors like Crazy Time (20,000x) or Mega Wheel (40,000x), making Family Feud Live less attractive to jackpot chasers seeking life-changing payouts.

All in all, Family Feud Live is not “just another game show” – it sticks close to the basics of wheel games while innovating in its bonus rounds, which is exactly what you expect from such releases.

FAQ

Regulatory restrictions prevent US players from accessing online gambling sites that offer Family Feud Live, even though the game physically broadcasts from MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas. US gambling laws create complex jurisdiction issues that make it difficult for international online casinos to accept American players, regardless of where their games are physically located. The game is only available to players in licensed international markets.
Survey Says allows you to pick ONE answer from 6 cells, revealing a single multiplier between 5x and 50x. Super Survey allows you to pick THREE answers from 6 cells, with all three multipliers added together for your total payout (potentially up to 150x if extremely lucky). Super Survey has higher potential but is rarer, appearing on only 1 wheel segment versus Survey Says' 2 segments.
In the Fast Money bonus round, you continue collecting multipliers until three "X" strikes appear OR all cells are revealed. If you hit three strikes, the round ends immediately, but you still receive the sum of all multipliers you collected BEFORE the third strike. For example, if you collected 25x, 40x, and 15x before the third strike appeared, you'd still win 80x your bet amount.
Yes, Family Feud Live is fully optimized for mobile play on both iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices. The game automatically adapts to your screen size, with touch-optimized betting controls and bonus round interactions.
Survey Says appears on 2 wheel segments (~3.7% probability), while Super Survey, Fast Money, and Buzzer Round each appear on 1 segment (~1.85% probability each). Combined, you'll see a bonus round trigger approximately 9.25% of the time, or roughly once every 11 spins on average.

How We Rate Live Casino Games

Our game reviews and ratings are based on a strict set of standards, which were developed over years of enjoying live casino games. However, our ratings also depend on comparable games and industry standards. Here are some of the factors we consider while reviewing games:

  • Graphics & Stream Quality – Although visuals are not the most important factor, they certainly matter. Good-looking games create a better and more immersive atmosphere. Moreover, the game’s graphics can set it apart from the competition.
  • UI and User-Friendliness – Well-designed games have intuitive interfaces that are easy to use and access. Our reviews also consider any additional UI elements such as betting options, performance settings, stats and histories, and more.
  • Payouts & RTP – How much your bets win is crucial for determining a casino game’s quality. A higher RTP is always better for us as players, making RTP one of the most objective ways to rate how good a particular game is.
  • Gameplay – This refers to how the game actually plays – whether it’s exciting, fun, engaging, and whether we’ve actually enjoyed playing it. This is extremely important for unique products such as Busted or Bailed Live.
  • Extra Features – This refers to any added features such as additional bonuses or UI elements.
  • Platform compatibility – We also rate how well a game performs on mobile devices, apps, etc.
  • Localization and Native-speaking Tables – Games with a lot of language options are more accessible to international audiences, which is why we consider such features as well.
