Meet Your Dealer: Live Casinos Introduces Richy from Authentic Gaming

Meet Richy. He is a 33-year-old game presenter from the Netherlands. He’s lived in Malta for the last one and a half years.

Hi Richy. So nice to meet you. Let’s start by telling us what tables do you operate?

Most of the time I work on Blaze, but I also train new employees to become Live dealers.

Do you enjoy working with Authentic Gaming?

Yes, I like it a lot. When I started working at Authentic Gaming it was still a small company. Working in a small company means there is a lot of room for growth. I got the chance to improve my skills and techniques on camera and now even get to share that knowledge. And even now that we are a big company, it feels like being part of a big family. They give me the feeling of being heard and being able to grow.

What’s your favorite Authentic Gaming table/game?

I really love presenting on Blaze Live roulette. You get the chance to speak about all the game knowledge you have and really build a show.

What did you do before you became a live dealer at Authentic Gaming?

I had my own social club/bar. I have always loved entertaining, even though it was in a different type of entertainment. In the end it’s very similar because all you want is for people to have a great time.

How did you decide to become a live casino dealer?

Me and my husband decided to move to Malta and IGaming is big business here. At first I just wanted to improve on my English and thought that going into banking was a good start. When I saw the application to become a live dealer, I was immediately triggered. after my application got through, I have never had any regrets.

Advice for future dealers?

"Go for it! You will learn a lot about how to act in front of a camera and how to improvise."

Favorite Part of the Job?

What kind of training did you need to do and how long did it take before you could work as a live dealer?

I had a 5-day training but after the third day I went live on camera for short sessions to get the feel of how to act in front of the camera. In the end, this is where you really get to learn how to be a good dealer. In the beginning, it can be very exciting and you will get a bit nervous. But after some time, you will learn more and get more confidence and you will get better and better.

What is your favorite part of the job?

I love entertaining people and being in front of the camera. It kind of gives you the feel of being important, like being a host of a show on television. And I must say, I have been to sets where they shoot television series and it looks a lot the same.

To give you an impression, of course we are live from a big studio. Inside that studio you can find small sets looking like a high end bar in Las Vegas, a Cricket themed set, a set ‘Art Deco’ style and I could go on and on.

How do you think the live casino vertical is reshaping the entire casino industry?

Of course because of the situation at the moment, people go on their phones faster, but even without the current situation, this is a trend that started a long time ago. In Live Casinos, you can find brand new shows and there is a lot of innovation. Simply said, there are a lot more games to be found online in comparison to land-based casinos and I understand that people like this.

What is your advice for people who are thinking about becoming live dealers?

Go for it! You will learn a lot about how to act in front of a camera and how to improvise. You will work with different people from all around the world and will learn about their culture and habits as well. And of course, online casinos are a huge business, which is only growing more with lots of opportunities.

What do you like to do for fun in your leisure time when you’re not working as a live dealer?

Last year I moved to Malta, So, I’m still enjoying all the things on the Island. I like to go out to the beach, have fun with friends and go out for drinks.
