This Friday was marked by a major brawl at Resorts World Casino in Queens. The night did not promise any hostility, on the contrary. It was the opening night of a daiquiri bar and restaurant within the food court of the New York casino. But as the night went on, dozens of people were seen throwing not only punches but chairs and tables as well.

Worth the Wait?

The mass brawl, reportedly, started at around 10 PM while many people were waiting in long lines for the grand opening of Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar and slowly started to lose their patience. As some eyewitnesses report, two groups of hooligans started the fight which caused a chaos with people throwing chairs tables, punching each other while others were trying to escape from the scene. The videos of the event soon flooded the internet. Fortunately no one suffered serious injuries, though one police officer suffered a hand injury, while the security guards went home with some bumps and bruises. The financial damage is estimated to several thousands of dollars.

Three End Up Under Arrest

The police reported that they have received several 911 phone calls from Resorts World Casino and when they arrived to the scene, some time before midnight, they found two dozen people fighting in front of around 300 onlookers. The police believe that the incident was gang-related. They arrested three men, two of which already had previous warrants. This time they will face charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

On the behalf of the Casino, their representative expressed concern about this incident and assured the public that they will try to prevent similar incidents in the future: “The safety of our patrons is Resorts World's top priority, and there is absolutely no room for this kind of behavior at our facility. We are reviewing all aspects of this unfortunate event and are fully committed to taking steps to ensure similar acts do not take place ever again.”

The witnesses of this mass fight in the middle of the food court of the Resorts World Casino say that it looked like a wrestling tournament or “a wild frat party gone wrong”. So next time you decide to take a break from gambling and have a drink or two, watch your back. Or you can choose not to risk it and play at one of live dealer casinos in the safety and comfort of your home.
