SPiCE India 2020 has been postponed due to travel restrictions by the Government of India.
The third edition of SPiCE India (Strategic Platform for iGaming Conference & Exhibition) has been postponed because of the coronavirus.
This gathering of all stakeholders from the gaming and betting industry was supposed to happen next week.
Event Delayed Until Further Notice
Initial date of SPiCE India 2020 was from March 25-27th. Eventus International is hosting the event at Goa Marriot Resort and Spa. .
Based on developments relating to the COVID-19 impact in the country, they had to temporarily defer the Indian-based gaming conference.
The Indian government issued a travel advisory on March 11th, 2020 due to the pandemic outbreak. In line with this, they’ve canceled all existing visas for foreign nationals, until April 15th, 2020.
Eventus International has concluded that unfortunately, it is impossible to continue with SPiCE India according to its original plan.
“We are, at this time, left with no choice but to postpone SPiCE India 2020, which will be rescheduled. New dates will be announced shortly after discussions with our stakeholders and advisors,” the statement read.

Yudi Soetjiptadi, Managing Director of Eventus International, commented on the situation. They were fully ready to host the event as per schedule with all preparations already done.
However, due to recent developments and the most recent travel ban they’ve decided to put it on hold. It’s “impossible for us to continue with SPiCE India 2020 on schedule,” Soetjiptadi said. Adding, “We are evaluating the situation further”.
Moreover, they will discuss with their advisors and stakeholders before announcing the new dates. Despite this postponement, they look forward to welcoming all their clients to the third annual SPiCE on its new dates. “We hope everyone stays healthy and safe!”
The Eventus International team also thanked all SPiCE India 2020 participants for their support and understanding. They also assured them that the event will take place on the new dates once they decide on them.
