Romanian players will enjoy a full range of Microgaming’s potfolio via Quickfire platform.
Microgaming’s Prima Networks, an online gaming software provider have recently obtained a Romanian Class II licence to offer and provide games and digital solutions via Microgaming’s Quickfire platform. Romanian gambling market is attractive to all providers who are aiming to expand in Europe, since it is well-regulated, due to the recently adopted new law regarding gambling. Romanian regulatory body ONJN -Oficiul Național pentru Jocuri de Noroc granted Class II licences to other providers as well including NetEnt which got two licences, iSoftBet and others.
Open For Foreign Operators
Romania has proven as a reliable ground for online gaming business, especially thanks to the new law which was introduced in June last year. The new law brought about many positive changes especially when it comes to foreign operators. Namely, foreign operators are allowed to apply for the licenses, which was not the case previously, provided that they are seated in any EU country or Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, or Iceland. However, the operators are required to provide mirror servers in Romania. Opening their market for international operators is clearly an attempt to boost their economy and tourism and Romania chose the right way to do it. Their attempts to establish a clear legal framework for online gambling are already giving results as many providers are interested in obtaining the licence.
