Evolution Gaming teams up with PokerStars to hit the Live Dealer scene in New Jersey

Evolution Gaming has signed a deal with PokerStars New Jersey in order to build on a demand for live casino services that has already exceeded all expectations.

Live Games Coming to New Jersey

Under the terms of the partnership, Evolution will power The Stars Group’s online Live Casino services for players at in New Jersey, USA.

Live casino games will be streamed from Evolution new studio in Atlantic City. Located at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, the studio opened earlier in 2018 after five years in the making. This purpose-built studio is Evolution’s tenth Live Casino studio worldwide.

In January, Evolution opened a another dedicated Live Casino studio in Vancouver, Canada and the two studios represent a significant milestone in Evolution’s growing North American presence.

Speaking last week, CEO Martin Carlesund cited the opening of the firm’s New Jersey studio as an operational highlight of the quarter, but warned it does not expect large returns immediately.

“The US market remains a long-term project, where New Jersey marks the start of a longer journey,” he said. “The timetable for regulation in additional states is hard to predict; according to reports, Pennsylvania is next during 2019. Regardless of the timing, Evolution is now very well positioned to grasp the opportunities that will open up.”

Exceeding Expectations

The Stars Group already operates a number of other online gaming brands in the state including PokerStars and BetStars with tech support from Play’n GO and Quickspin.  As a long-standing Evolution’s customer, the Stars Group already use their live casino solutions from their main central Europe studio in Riga, Latvia.

James Stern, Director of Business Development & Land-based Sales at Evolution, commented the deal. “We have worked with The Stars Group since 2015, during which time we have worked together in a number of regulated markets in Europe.”

“The immediate popularity of our Live Casino tables at our Atlantic City studio has exceeded even our high expectations. I am confident that PokerStars Casino New Jersey’s customers will be drawn to Live Casino, and enjoy the thrill of playing at our wide range of Live Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat tables” he added.

Evolution also tends to expand its Malta operations and open up a brand new studio at the island next year.

The company hailed positive numbers for the third quarter and reported a 41% year-on-year rise in revenue to €64.3 million. Operating profit is just over €23million, which is up 27% compared to the same period last year.
